Sar Pass Trek
The Sar Pass Trek is in Parvati Valley of Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. While trekking across the path from Tila Lotni to Biskeri Ridge, one has to pass by a small, usually frozen lake. So, it is called the name Sar Pass. It is one of the most beautiful treks in India. It promises a medley of thick forests, sylvan meadows and roaring streams. Sar, in local dialect, means a lake. Sar Pass is a moderately challenging trek in the Parvati Valley of Himachal Pradesh. Because it has situated at an altitude of 14000 ft. This Pass is a perfect trek for beginners. It’s apt for those who want to experience all kinds of terrain like Forests, meadows, quaint villages, or snow-covered mountains.
Best Time To Visit Sar Pass
The trekking experience begins with Grahan Village. The best time to visit Sar Pass Trek is from May to October. However, during this time, there are chances of bad weather occurrences in regions above 4000ft.
How to reach Sar Pass
By Train: Kiratpur serves as the nearest railway station to Kasol. It has situated about 215 kms from the base camp. You can hire a cab or ride at bus to reach there.
By Road: If you want to reach the base camp via road, then there are several bus services that ply from Delhi and Chandigarh till Bhuntar. And some buses also goes up to Manikaran, situated 5 kms ahead of Kasol. However, once you have reach Bhuntar, take a cab or a hitch a ride at bus to reach Kasol lying about 30 kms from here or a drive of one and a half hours.
