Theog is a beautiful town in Shimla district. It is a less crowded peaceful area in Himachal Pradesh, which attracts more tourists every year. So, the scenery of this place is beautiful. This place is famous in Himachal Pradesh. It is one of the favorite sites for campers. Because it is a very famous camping site. It has situated on National highway 22. It is 32 km away from Shimla. Rahi Ghat, Deori Ghat, Prem Ghat, Janoghat, and Bagaghat. Because these are all ghats are located in Theog. It is also the top producer of vegetables in Asia. It has major contribution in pahari folk music.
Best time for Theog
The best time to visit Theog is between October and November. When the temperature is moderate and remains a cool 25 degrees Centigrade in the day time. From December till February it gets very cold with temperatures in the single digits accompanied by heavy snowfall. A quieter time to visit the quaint town is in the summers. Because this place is not overcrowded with tourists.
How to reach in Theog
You will have to take a direct bus to Shimla first and then from there take a bus again or hire a taxi to get to Theog. It will take near about 1.5 hours to reach. If you want you to come from Delhi to Theog by own car, then it is possible to do so. The driving distance and time from New Delhi are 381 km and 9 hours respectively.
