K.L.B. D.A.V. College for Girls, Palampur, is one of the pioneers in the field of women’s education. Established in 1969, the Kanhia Lal Butail Dayanand Anglo Vedic College for Girls has undergraduate courses in the Art Stream. In addition to this the institution runs regular M.A. Classes in four subjects: English, Hindi, Political Science & Economics. Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Classes has been added since the 2005-06 session after receiving due recognition from the National Council for Teachers Education, Regional Office, Jaipur and affiliation from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. Attached to K.L.B. D.A.V. college for Girls is the B.L.B. Senior Secondary School for Girls. It provides school education and will facilitate the teaching practice of B. Ed. Students within the campus. As a logical next step towards providing professional education to girls, Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) and Bachelor in Computer Application (B.C.A.) Courses have been introduced w.e.f. 2007-08 after receiving affiliation from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. M.B.A. & M.C.A. courses will run from this academic session i.e. 2012-13.
The institution is centrally located in the picturesque town of Palampur at a distance of about 1 Km from the old bus stand, opposite to the hotel Tea Bud (Which is run by Himachal Pradesh Tourism Department). Surrounded by tea plantations and located in Palampur (which has pollution free & peaceful environs), the salubrious climate is indeed an added attraction of this institution.
